CAPTION:Danielle Cudmore, professor of English Literature and granddaughter of Bob Collén, “The Millers River Poet”, is one of the judges of the Robert P. Collén “Poetry of Place” Poetry Competition. She, along with Marcia Gagliardi of Athol, has chosen the ten finalists who will be reading their selected poems on Thursday, October 29 at 7:00 pm in the Reading Room of the Wheeler Memorial Library. The event is free and open to the public.

The Wheeler Memorial Library in Orange will host a reading by the ten finalists in the Second Annual Robert P. Collén “Poetry of Place” Poetry Competition on Thursday, October 29 at 7:00 pm. The contest honors the memory of the late “Millers River Poet” for his life-long devotion to Orange, its libraries and the writing of poetry. Mr. Collén's granddaughter Danielle Cudmore, PhD., a professor of English Literature at Halmstad University in Gotesborg, Sweden, and Marcia Gagliardi, his long-time friend and publisher, are the judges for the competition. Together they will cull the 109 submitted poems until ten finalists are chosen. From the ten, the top three will earn prize money of $100.00 for first, $50.00 for second and $25.00 dollars for third. The winners will be announced immediately after the readings.
