Orange Public Libraries Announce Adult & Teen Summer Reading Club

Shannon McGowan, MassLIFT-AmeriCorps Community Engagement Coordinator at the Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust, encourages everyone to participate in the 2015 Summer Reading Club for adults and teens at the Orange Public Libraries in support of the Orange Food Pantry.

The Wheeler Memorial Library in downtown Orange and the Moore-Leland Library in North Orange along with the Friends of the Orange Public Libraries want to get you reading this Summer for a good cause. Join the Library and the Friends as they partner with the Orange Food Pantry in providing healthy food to local people in need. The reading club starts on Wednesday, June 24 and will run through Thursday, August 6.

“The more books we read, the more food we can provide to the folks in our community who need it most.” said Manuel King, Head of Adult Services at the Wheeler Memorial Library. “The Friends have committed to donating 25 cents for every book participants read this summer. We encourage all our adult and teen patrons at the Wheeler and the Moore-Leland Libraries to join the club so we can reach of goal of 800 books! As an added incentive, participants will be entered into a weekly prize drawing and be eligible to win a $20.00 gift certificate to a local restaurant or business.”

The Adult and Teen Club complements the Children's Summer Reading Club that will take place downstairs in the Children's Room of the Wheeler Memorial Library and at Moore-Leland Library. This wonderful program has weekly and special events planned throughout the summer and all are free.

For more information about any of these Summer Reading Clubs call the Wheeler Memorial library at 978-544-2495 or the Moore-Leland Library at 978-575-0444 or visit www.orangelib.org.
