Local children's author Jane Schoenberg recently visited the newly formed Wheeler Library Book Club, 2013 edition. Her appearance was funded by a grant from the Orange Cultural Council a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. All the young readers came up with an hours worth of excellent questions which Jane answered thoroughly after they read their personal copies of Jane's newest book, Stuey Lewis Against All Odds These books were gifted to book club members through a grant from Big G's Mini Mart. Jane showed her readers just how much work went into the book. She brought along with her every draft that Stuey went through until he successfully finished his year in third grade. The bag that contained all these versions of the one and only Stuey Lewis weighed more than 40 pounds. At the end of the meeting Jane graciously autographed each readers book. The book club is still open to independent reader or child/adult pair who would like to explore books with friends. Its members will meet once a month having read any book they choose on the theme picked for that month. Anyone interested should call Candy Cross, Children's Librarian, at 978-544-2495 x103 on Monday - Thursday 2:30 - 6:00. A time for the next meeting will be arranged to suit the schedules of those who sign-up.
