Wheeler Wraps UP Summer Reading

Drawing, quilting, and reading were all found to be pleasant ways to spend time during the last days of summer vacation at the Wheeler Memorial Library. With workshops lead by creative experts and plenty of great books to choose from, the members of the summer reading program had no problem raising $300.00 for the Orange Food Pantry by reading more than 600hours. Indeed the total hours read now stands at 687 with more hours coming in daily. The library would welcome donations of 50 cents for each hour of reading if community members would like to add to the library’s coverage of the first 600 hours. Please contact Candy Cross in the Children’s room if you would like to contribute.

On Monday, August 28 , 2006 at 1:00PM, there will be a summer reading club reunion with all participants invited to gather on the library’s front steps for a group photo. A check will be presented to the Orange Food Pantry along with individual Reading Club Certificates. Light refreshments will be served and bee baskets will be distributed. The summer reading program at the Wheeler Memorial Library was generously supported by the Friends of the Orange Libraries, the Athol/Orange Rotary Club, the MA Regional Library Systems, the MA Board of Library Commissioners, the 1880 House, the Tea House, the Pizza Factory, the Orange House of Pizza, the Hair Zone, and China Lee.
